Ph.D. in Sociology is required, with primary teaching and research interests in globalization and/or immigration. ABDs may be considered, but those hired ABD must earn their doctoral degree within six months of being hired.  The successful candidate must be able to teach sociological theory. The Department of Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin Fall 2015. Area of specialization is open, but the applicant will be expected to contribute to one or more of the core strengths of the department in social inequality, population studies, and global social change.
