Job announcement: SUNY-Brockport Sociology, tenure track assistant prof

The Department of Sociology at the College at Brockport, State University of New York invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position beginning fall 2015.  We seek an active scholar with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence. Ph.D. in Sociology is required, with primary teaching and research interests in globalization and/or immigration. ABDs may be considered, but those hired ABD must earn their doctoral degree within six months of being hired.  The successful candidate must be able to teach sociological theory. Secondary interests should ideally be in one or more of the following areas: work and organizations or politics and social change. Scholarship, professional development, student advising and mentoring, departmental  and college service, and an ability to teach a diverse student population are expected.  Financial support for research and scholarship is available.
