Job Posting: TT Position in Sociology at the University of California, San Francisco

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) announces a search for a tenure track or tenured faculty position to be filled by September 1, 2018 (preferred, but later start date may be negotiable). Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending upon the finalist’s level of experience.

Applicants are required to hold a PhD in sociology or a closely-related field at the time of hire. Successful candidates must have expertise in medical sociology; additional preferred areas of expertise include aging, gender, and/or global health. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and research. An established portfolio or promise of externally funded research is also desirable. Candidates at the senior level must be willing and able to contribute to the leadership of the department, through periodic rotation to the Department Chair position.

A complete application will include a cover letter that includes a statement of research, a separate statement of teaching, a curriculum vitae, copies of three key publications, and one or more recent course syllabi.
