Position Summary:

McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions in Organizational Behavior starting August 2017. Successful candidates will sustain a cutting edge, high quality research program and publish in top journals. They are also expected to work actively with doctoral students, and to teach in our undergraduate and graduate programs. We encourage applications from candidates at all levels. Salary is negotiable, according to qualifications and experience.

In addition to having a Ph.D. in a related discipline (e.g., organizational behavior, management, strategy, international business, entrepreneurship, organizational theory), the ideal candidate will have a record of research publications in high quality, peer-reviewed journals, evidence of effective teaching, and clear promise of pursuing an interesting and innovative research agenda. Applicants possessing outstanding potential, both as a researcher and a teacher, who are recent doctoral graduates or who plan to have completed the requirements for their Ph.D. by December 2016 may be considered. Whereas teaching is done in English, knowledge of French or a willingness to learn French is desirable.

Job Posting: Professor of the Practice (non-tenured) position at Duke University

The Markets and Management Studies Program (MMS) at Duke University seeks applicants for an open rank Professor of the Practice position, a non-tenure track but regular rank faculty position.

The Professor of the Practice track at Duke is parallel to the tenure track, and affords possibility for reappointment and promotion.  The position will come with an initial four-year contract that is renewable, subject to review, beginning with a start date in July or August 2017.  The position will be located administratively in the Department of Sociology with teaching responsibilities in Duke’s MMS Program.  A Ph.D. in Sociology or an allied social science field (Psychology, Economics, Management, Marketing, Organizational Behavior and so on) is required, along with two years of teaching experience.  The position will have a 3-3 teaching load, which is adjustable downward for possible administrative duties in MMS.  The MMS Program is a 7-course, interdisciplinary certificate program that enrolls about 600 undergraduate students from Arts & Sciences and Engineering.  MMS uses the liberal arts as a basis for undergraduate business education.  It offers students the opportunity to study business, management, organizations and organizational behavior, entrepreneurship and marketing.

Job Announcement: TT, open-rank faculty position at UC San Francisco’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) announces a search for a tenure track faculty position to be filled by September 1, 2017 (preferred, but later start date may be negotiable). Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending upon the finalist’s level of experience.

Applicants are required to hold the PhD in sociology at the time of hire. Successful candidates should have expertise in medical sociology and quantitative research methods. Additional preferred areas of expertise include one or some combination of: sociology of aging, health policy, global health, HIV/AIDS, sociological theory, and/or organizational theory. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and research, including an established portfolio or promise of externally funded research that is synergistic with and contributes to departmental teaching and research directions. Candidates at the senior level must be willing and able to contribute to the leadership of the department, through periodic rotation to the Department Chair position.
