Job Posting: Herbert A. Simon Chair in Education, Management, and Organizational Behavior (Harvard)

The Harvard Graduate School of Education invites applications from highly qualified candidates for the endowed Herbert Simon Professorship in Education, Management, and Organizational Behavior.

The Herbert A. Simon Chair carries tenure in the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). The person who holds this professorship will bring the benefits of theoretical and empirical research to bear on problems of education management and organizations. Applicants should have expertise in disciplines such as management, organizational behavior, and/or economics. We seek applicants who have a clear track record of working across disciplinary boundaries and who strive to impact theory, policy, and practice through their work.

HGSE prepares students and professionals of diverse backgrounds for positions of leadership in research, policy, and practice in education. Applicants should therefore be able to effectively teach and communicate their research to a range of audiences, from master’s students and doctoral students to senior professionals in the field.

The search committee is especially interested in applications from women and minorities. The committee will begin reviewing applications on November 1, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.
