Boston University Questrom School of Business – Faculty Opening

The Organizational Behavior Department at the Questrom School of Business, Boston University invites applications for a tenured Associate Professor position starting July 1, 2017, pending budgetary approval.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in organizational behavior or a related field (e.g., sociology or psychology).  Prospective candidates must demonstrate the following: a track record of producing original and innovative scholarly work of the highest possible quality and impact, the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and the ability to provide intellectual and institutional leadership.

Job Posting: TT Faculty Position at Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University

Tenure-track Organizational Behavior & Theory faculty positions opening at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University for appointment at the untenured (Assistant/Associate) level.  Applicants should demonstrate achievement of, or potential for, excellence in research and in teaching MBA, doctoral, and undergraduate students.  Accomplished academic training in organizational behavior or theory, strategy, sociology, psychology, or related fields is required, as well as a Ph.D. at the time of appointment (Fall 2017).  The OBT faculty at the Tepper School specialize in the areas of inter- and intra-group behavior, social networks, and organizational learning with a specific focus on inter-disciplinary and cross-level research. Priority will be given to candidates whose research enhances any of these areas and also considers organizational level phenomena.

Job Announcement: TT, open-rank faculty position at UC San Francisco’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) announces a search for a tenure track faculty position to be filled by September 1, 2017 (preferred, but later start date may be negotiable). Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending upon the finalist’s level of experience.

Applicants are required to hold the PhD in sociology at the time of hire. Successful candidates should have expertise in medical sociology and quantitative research methods. Additional preferred areas of expertise include one or some combination of: sociology of aging, health policy, global health, HIV/AIDS, sociological theory, and/or organizational theory. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and research, including an established portfolio or promise of externally funded research that is synergistic with and contributes to departmental teaching and research directions. Candidates at the senior level must be willing and able to contribute to the leadership of the department, through periodic rotation to the Department Chair position.

The John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University welcomes applications and nominations for a faculty position in public management. The position is at the assistant level and tenure track. We especially encourage applications from scholars who study management issues related to diverse populations. Topical areas of interest include, but are not limited to, studies of leadership, organizational behavior, managerial decision making, human resource management, strategic management, and inter-organizational and cross-sector collaboration. We welcome scholars employing a variety of methodological approaches, so long as the research is analytically rigorous and has implications for management practice. The successful candidate will be expected to publish research in leading public affairs journals.

Job Announcement: Visiting Assistant Professor Position at University of Illinois at Chicago

The Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking candidates for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2016. We seek candidates who use statistical methods in their research and are able to contribute to the teaching of statistical methods at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The teaching load will be four courses; two graduate statistics courses (the second semester of a two-semester graduate statistics sequence; and an advanced statistical seminar for graduate students) and two sections of undergraduate statistics. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage with a vibrant and supportive environment for pursuing their research and publications, including assignment to a senior faculty mentor in the department.
