Call for Papers: Race and Ethnicity at Work

Research in the Sociology of Work invites submissions for inclusion in a section of RSW devoted to “Race and Ethnicity at Work.” Submissions may address any topic on this theme, including but not limited to the following:

  • Changing patterns of racial and ethnic segregation
  • Racial discrimination in labor markets, organizations, or workplaces
  • The intersection of race, gender and class within work organizations and/or occupations
  • Racial wage gaps
  • The meaning and consequences of diversity management
  • Impact of race on aesthetic labor
  • Racial patterns in contingent, low wage, or other forms of insecure work
  • Race in professional/managerial jobs
  • Race, ethnicity and social network ties
  • Critical race theory and racial privilege at work
  • Race and emotions in the workplace
  • Race-typing and the labor market
