The Department of Sociology at Grinnell College invites applications for a one-year term appointment (beginning Fall 2018). Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) or Associate Professor possible. Research and teaching interests are open but might include: political economy, comparative and historical sociology, or global sociology. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters. The successful candidate should plan to teach 1-2 introductory courses, 1 theory course, and offer 1-2 courses in their area of specialization.
