Job announcement: HRM (2 positions), ILR School, Cornell

The Human Resource Studies Department of the ILR School, Cornell University, has two openings for new tenure track or tenured faculty members beginning in August, 2015.  Rank is open.  Preference will be given to applicants with a strong research and publication record commensurate with their rank.

We are interested in applicants whose research and teaching focuses on human resource management and employment relations in organizations more generally.  We welcome applicants from a wide range of theoretical and disciplinary perspectives, including strategic management, organization studies, human resource studies, organizational behavior, industrial relations, psychology, sociology, and economics, among others.

Founded in 1865, Cornell University is a private, Ivy League university located in Ithaca, New York. The ILR School is the world’s leading college focused on work, employment, and related issues.  Information about the School is available at www.ilr.cornell.edu.  The HR Studies faculty includes 12 scholars who focus on both the macro and micro aspects of the field and study a wide range of issues in these arenas.  Information about the department is available at http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/academics/hr.html. Department faculty engage with HR executives and related stakeholders through the School’s Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies (CAHRS – www.ilr.cornell.edu/cahrs), executive education programs, and similar venues.  The department is also closely affiliated with the Institute for Compensation Studies, which is a major incubator and clearinghouse for compensation and related research (www.ilr.cornell.edu/ics).
